Fiat500
Neepsend Model Railway Society are pleased to announce that we are holding a follow-up to 2018's successful debut show! Neepsend Model Railway Society's 2nd exhibition will follow a similar theme to our 2018 show, with a selection of superb model railways built by some of the best modellers from the North of England. In addition, there will be support from well-known model rail traders and demonstrators, plus a café serving a variety of light refreshments. Compared with last year's show, there will be a significant increase in the number of exhibits, but entry fees will remain the same as 2018. The exhibition will be held over the weekend of 27th/28th April, again at the Park Centre, Samson Street, Sheffield, S2 5QT. As per our last show, the exhibition will be open 10-5 on the Saturday, and 10-4.30 on the Sunday. Entry fees will again be £5 for adults, £2 for children, and a family ticket (2 adults + 2 children) is available for £12. Each adult ticket comes with a free cup of tea/coffee, redeemable at the in-house café. A free showguide, kindly sponsored by DC Kits, will be issued upon entry to the show. The venue is within walking distance from Sheffield Railway Station (albeit up a long flight of stairs!) - both the station and the venue are on the 120 bus route, which has the most frequent service in Sheffield (up to every 5 minutes). Hyde Park tram stop is also a 15 minute walk away from the venue, and is served by trams from Meadowhall Interchange and the new 'Tram-Train’ from Rotherham Parkgate. On-street parking is available in the local area for those visitors with their own transport - a map can be downloaded from our website (https://neepsendmrs.weebly.com/2019-exhibition.html) . Layouts confirmed to be attending will be: Mortomley - ‘OO’ 1960s East Anglia Arcadia Pennsylvania Terminal - ‘O’ 1970s American Bridge Street - ‘OO’ 2000s West Yorkshire Alford Yard - ‘OO’ 1980s West Yorkshire Glenisla Road - ‘OO’ 1980s Scotland Wepre Park - ‘EM’ 1960s East Yorkshire Welby Lane RTC - 1980s Derby Technical Centre Amalgamated Wagon Works - ‘O’ 1930s Industrial Harkness - ‘EM’ 1948 Northumbria Tanpit Lane - ‘EM’ 2000s East Midlands Lane End - ‘009’ 1960s Narrow Gauge CSX Rensville - ‘HO’ 1990s American Menabrea - ‘HO’ 1970s Italian Yorkshire Coast Tramway - ‘OO’ 1960s trams/road vehicles Titheridge Junction - ’N’ 1970s West Country Steinbach - ‘009’ 1960s German Vals - ‘HoE’ 2010s Swiss Supporting Trade and Demonstrations: DC Kits - Legomanbiffo/Locoman with D&E Videos Road & Rail Elmet Images Going Loco Peak Rail DEMU (Demo) Ian Farnsworth - Electronics in Model Railways (Demo) Club Sales Metcalfe building construction (Demo) Edited April 25, 2019 by Fiat500 Update to listing

Fiat500
Just a small reminder that the Neepsend Model Railway Society's 2nd annual show will be taking place this weekend. We have 17 layouts in attendance this year, and a mixture of trade and demonstrator support - see above for details. For those intending to travel to the show by rail, it looks like the only services not to be running over the weekend will be Dearne Valley (Bolton-on-Dearne - Moorthorpe) and Huddersfield services on Sunday, which are both due to engineering works. The venue is within walking distance (approximately 15 minutes), but does involve a steep set of steps up the back of the railway station! There are plenty of bus services that leave from the station front that pass the venue (the 120 is every 5-10 minutes throughout the day) if you don't fancy the climb. woodenhead
Saw some images on Facebook, would have been worth the trip over the Peak District. unfortunately I am aching from head to toe with flu and on an ice cream diet.
Fiat500
Just a reminder folks that today is the 2nd day of opening for Neepsend Model Railway Society's 2nd exhibition - nearly 50% bigger than last year, but with the same entry fee (£5 including a free cup of tea/coffee), and with a high-quality selection of layouts, trade support and modelling demonstrations. There is also the cafe serving a selection of hot/cold drinks, sandwiches, cakes and snacks. Today we are open 10-4.30. To clarify for those travelling by bus, you need to get off at the Talbot Road stop, next to Duke Medical Centre and the Trades & Labour Club - the venue is then 25 yards up the hill, and the entrance at the top of Samson Street.
