One for my diary I'll add it now.

Anymore details on this 40" challenge?

So far four layouts and one static display have been confirmed,, with more expected as members rush to complete their 40" challenge layouts in time for the show.

Further information is available on the Exhibitions page of the website at http://www.rdrms.com/exhibitions.html so visit it often to see any updates.

Look forward to seeing he entrants in your layout challenge and hope you get a good response. These type of challenges are often excellent ways of making folk come up with interesting and novel ideas and show some creativity! Hopefully there will be some photos posted here to inspire those of us too far away to visit!

I'll be taking photos of all the layouts, probably on the Sunday when there aren't quite so many people around. for publishing on the website.  Seeing your post put an idea into my head - I'll create a separate 40" section.

I can certainly include a link in a later post.

Meanwhile, you can get an idea of what the members are capable of building, by viewing their existing layouts at: http://www.rdrms.com/members-layouts.html

Any updates on this 40" challengers and other layouts at the show?

The latest news is that there will be ten 40" inch challenge layouts at the show and I hope to have more information on the website shortly.
One of the builders has been taking pictures of their layout as work progresses and they will be added to the website in due course.

What's the parking like there?

There are several council owed and private car parks within a few minutes walk, including one at the Crosfield Hall where the exhibition is held - but arrive early on the Saturday as they tend to be filled by shoppers.
On the Sunday, parking in council car parks is free - but not in private car parks owned by shops such as Aldi, so make certain you know in whose car park you are before walking away without paying.

Another good car park to use, a few more minutes walk away, is at the Romsey Rapids swimming pool.  See https://www.testvalley.gov.uk/transportparkingandstreets/car-parks/romseycarparks for definitive information and to download a parking map.

Rather late in the day I know, but the full line-up is now available on our website at: http://www.rdrms.com/exhibitions.html

There are 19 layouts, with 12 being in response to the 40" challenge - it should be one of our best shows, so do try and pay it a visit if you can.

Do feel free to have a chat and pick club members' brains - lets hope those who attend the show leave having been inspired, if only in a minor way.
