Nice Job Stu.

Reminds me of a small diorama I made a few years' ago with some scrap bits.

Larry thanks for the pictures, our layouts are similar in design. I like what you have achieved with your layout.

Thanks Stu, yes I agree. It's surprising how satisfying it is to  work on one of these isn't it? For me, it's mainly because I can already see the constraints of the (lack of) space which keeps me grounded. I've a tendancy to become over-faced and daunted otherwise. It's also easy to make failrly rapid progress and an end point which is not too far in the future. My head is so full of stuff noise these days that I have a limited attention span. Little projects like these which are easily completed I find very therapeutic. My "main" layout in the loft on the other hand - that's another subject altogether and has suffered at least half a dozen false starts.

That young lady is always showing off by the way.

Larry to tell the truth I did not recognise the young lady:lol: but she is a stunner. I find like you with space problems I find dioramas are excellent pieces to model.

Thanks for the other diorama picture very nice and plenty going on.

Just downloaded some more pictures of the progress on the layout. Cobble work is complete just need to hide some of the joins with weeds and grass. The two houses are painted ready to attach the drain pipe.

ballasting will be completed this weekend along with the embankment area.

Hello! I have managed to complete the ballasting today, which means I won’t be touching the layout for a couple of days as I want the ballast to set properly.

This means I concentrate on painting up an old oval oil tank and it’s wooden supports. As always a picture of the work completed.:good_mini:

Hi everyone the layout is taking shape nicely now. The embankment has some ground cover on but needs a little static grass and a few shrubs.

The yard office and oval oil tank are in place with the real coal in the staithes.

Weathering needs to be done throughout the layout once I have the working street lamp in place at the end of the houses.

The bare board at the end of the houses will have a vegetable plot and coal frames as this was a familiar sight. As always a few pictures of my work.

Great little layout, it always amazes me what people can do with such a small space

One question about the houses, did your free kit come with windows and doors? mine was just the walls/ roof!

Thanks for your kind comments. As for the kit mine came with the doors and windows but I had to use a strawberry punnet for the pains.:good_mini:

Morning the layout is progressing nicely. Working telegraph pole with LED light is in place. The home made fence looks better since I painted it.

The small garden area with coal frame and plants inside them are a nice touch. Still plenty to do. As always some pictures of the work.
