Doesn't look like the take up will be that great judging by the extreme social distancing on the platform!!!!.

Of course they could all be in the (off scene) pub waiting for the driver to whistle up before 5 mins before departure?

Great Modelling here Alan

On the other hand Paul there may not be any takers that is why the line will be shut in 6 months time.

I have crewed the 57xx and added a few details. She will become 8749 when the plates from Narrow Planet are ordered and arrive.

This the mid day train from Gloucester pulling to take shoppers into the City.

I like the Fireman facing the 'wrong' way in the cab. really gives the sense of a busy, working crew.

Maybe you've already done it, but with closure only a few months ago, there ought to be one of those closure notices BR used to put up.

And, if you want a suitable potential passenger for your train, Andrew Stadden does a model of the man who (no doubt) ordered the line's closure...

Actually passenger services in the Forest of Dean were withdrawn by BR in the '50s, long before Mr Beeching came along. They fell - unlamented, it seems - to local bus competition which provided quicker & more direct services, especially to Gloucester. The railways stayed open for freight for some years after; the final BR train in the area ran in 1976, long after Beeching had done his worst.

If I had a model of Beeching on my layout, he'd be dangling from a tree....

thought I'd show a couple of shots of the whole of the scenic part of the layout one showing it in the room and a cropped version.

will try to take a photo looking down the layout tomorrow

Very nice Alan. Presumably there'll be a fascia to hide those spring clips?

The afternoon freight arrives with empty minerals for the collier on a hot sunny late summer afternoon.

After delivering the wagons and after shunting the brake van under the bridge 3716 (borrowed from Aberdare and some how still with us in the summer of '65) collects the goods van now that Frank drake has loaded his crate.

They then draw forward and back to the Brake van before going back down to Awre and Bullo.

Very nice, have you noticed the handrail has come out of the knob by the cab.

Surprised the moderator hasn't stepped in and said you can't post such a filthy loco on this website!!!
