Popular Post westerner
After reading the Happy Hippo post I decided to make a slight alteration regarding the sleepers and made them the edge going of the concrete. However a load of tufts of grass seem to have grown round the bottom. judging by the pale tops it must be the end of summer and even with the extra water from rain coming of the hut roof they are beginning to die.
RMweb Gold Happy Hippo Posted April 19, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 19, 2020 Alan, Super job on changing the lamp hut's seating arrangement. I was sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I think the end result is now even better. 4

BrushType4
The sleepers were a little extra and not part of the kit. You've done a great job of it though. 1
Baggies1961
Hi Alan, its a Monday after all and taken a break from work so decided to read your thread from the start, if I had done so previously I would have answered my own question on track weathering. Love following your progress on your excellent inspirational layout. I bought the excellent Neil Parkhouse book on the FOD railway and it is a fascinating area of railway operation of which you have captured in your layout. My brother moved to Blakeney and showed me some of the old line last year, very few pictures exist of it. Thanks once again for your layout and help you have given me. Also Iv bought the Parkside GWR brake van so cant wait for the ‘great wire challenge’ best wishes Julian.

It's worth looking at this brakevan page as mentioned by Miss Prism in another section of the forum, as the handrails do vary depending upon type and age of the brakevan: http://www.gwr.org.uk/nobrakes.html Edited April 20, 2020 by Happy Hippo
Popular Post westerner
Latest work bedding in the station building and telegraph pole. and I've started weathering the pannier, much still to do but at least it has lost that out of the box look. Next will be to start painting the various Modelu figures that will make up the crew.

RMweb Gold Adrian Stevenson Posted April 25, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 25, 2020 Hi Alan, that Pannier tank just keeps getting dirtier. It looks great! Cheers, Ade. 2
RMweb Gold Happy Hippo Posted April 25, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 25, 2020 Having a Bullo Pill Toad adds a certain authenticity to the whole FoD scenario. Not so sure about Aberdare's 3716 though. Perhaps it on an unoffical Staff Association day out?

westerner
Some tittivating of bits not easily seen, the path from the track to the platform, there is now a verge under the hedge. And the track/road over the bridge now has verges and some growth down the middle. Sorry about the quality of this photo. 16
GRASinBothell
You could just about fit a bus on the road over that bridge! Corgi did a (1/50 scale) AEC Regal in Wye Valley Motors colours... Gordon

pwr
Alan I do like what you have done with the road surface to the bridge. Perhaps a few sheep being herded to new pastures? Paul R 1
