Have you thought of using very fine chain to represent the cable. It should give you weight which allows it to hang correctly.

I see you can get this from Amazon cheaply enough

That looks better. At least no one will get a clout round the ear and the Safety Elves wont get their knickers in a twist.

Did Safety Elves exist in the mid sixties?

They certainly did, but they were much more covert in their actions, trusting people to be careful, using their own judgement. They were embodied in Management. I have seen (posed) photos taken from a Midland Railway safety booklet, so it was taken seriously before "Modern Times".

Safety was taken seriously but suing someone else every time you have an accident that you probably caused, wasn't!

You ought to come round our construction sites with me on my safety visits and see the unnecessary risks workers take!!

One of the most effective safety notices I ever saw read simply:

No hat

No boots

No job

No buts

Hal? I used Lifecolor's Dust and rust set. I can't remember exactly the mixture but 2 of the colours are Light rust 1 and light rust 2 so i imagine they were the largest element in the mix+ a tad of rust base colour. The two light shades do have a more yelowy appearance particularly the number 2.

I think Automistake has targeted you.  Unless BR were really short of fish and mammal names.

(Sorry, couldn’t resist!)
