Miss Prism
Is there any evidence for shirtbuttons being applied to carriage doors?
RMweb Gold Harlequin Posted February 7, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 7, 2019 Possibly, yes. I noticed the roundel applied to some coaches in the film "The Halfway House". More here: I can't remember if they were actually on the doors but I still have the film stored on my telly so I should be able to tell you later this evening. Of course, this is only one example and we have to hope that the film people did not paint the rolling stock themselves to "enhance the storytelling"...
RMweb Gold Harlequin Posted February 7, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 7, 2019 (edited) The only roundel I could see clearly was on the panel between the doors. The vehicle was a solid dark colour and was directly behind the loco but I couldn't see any identifying numbers or tell you what kind of thing it was, I'm afraid. Edit: When I saw your question I had a feeling that I had seen the roundel on the door in that film, but no, it wasn't. Not much help, sorry.
