Hi Fran,

But a lot of the running gear, the hardest part to make on a model, is the same, I think. Perhaps you could make a few extras for people to use as parts in scratchbuilt Irish models?

Hi Joseph,

It really isn’t, it’s worth looking at pictures of both. They are very very different. If we were to do Irish Mark IV stock we would do it from scratch as bespoke models. Our goal with IRM is to move the Irish scene away from half baked repaints of British models in Irish livery and this will remain so. It fundamentally goes against what we believe in.

Cheers!

X2 The bogies for starters are totally different. It is pure coincidence the IE CAF Mk4's are called Mk4's and have a reasonable resemblance to BR Metro-Cammell Mk4 stock. That is where it ends as the Irish stock is longer, taller and wider due to the more generous loading gauge. IRM have moved  and re-designed the goal posts completely, not just raised the bar. Long may it continue.

Fran, As the Mk5's have appeared on the website and are open for deposits.  Is there anything that shows the total coast of each set?

Not just yet Bob.

Weve finalized the specifications and breakdown of packs and hope to have the final price per pack later tomorrow all going to plan.

Apologies if this has already been asked / covered but apart from the packs, will the Mk5A's for example be available as single vehicles?

Hi Bob,

We won’t be offering them as single coaches at this time.

Cheers!

The Manufacturers drawings designate the TPE as T1 (universal access friendly coach), T2 (bike spaces), T3 (standard open) and DT (funky shaped cab bit) so it tallies with 159220's post, albeit his nomenclature is a bit more technical than mine.

RM

Oh but I like the 'funky shaped cab bit'! I shall use this from now on! The DT is certainly 'eye catching'.

We should have finalised pricing and details in the coming few days.

Timeline is early 2020 at this time, as we're booked solid in tooling the Deltic, 92, A Class (Irish) and about 7 other coach and wagon projects for this year :)

Site shows the TPE sets as 4 coaches. That's not right surely.

Hi Joseph,

The image showed an example of each vehicle, but we've updated the images to show that each TPE set is in fact 5 vehicles as listed in the breakdown, as well as each of the packs offering a complete, uniquely numbered and detailed train.

Fran is there going to be a fort willam only sleeper pack two sleepers lounge car and one seat carriage as at the moment the fort willam section is part of the Aberdean pack. Such a set would be welcome to West highland line modellers

Yes. We’ve reorganized the packs so there is now a dedicated Fort William pack with the correct 4 mk5 rake as will run.

Many thanks Bob.

We've finalised pricing at £45 per vehicle, so the 4 Packs are £180, the 5 Pack TPE sets at £225 and the 6 Pack 'Aberdonian' at £270

Pricing includes the lighting pack, capacitors and all orders qualify for free postage!

Hope that helps!
