This morning heading into Wakefield Westgate from the south with a sprinter in tow, taken from Garden street. i can just make out 55811 on it so it must be 144011

It's a 142......

And 142011 is 55552/55602

55811 is from 144011 as you say.

Many thanks, I made a mistake there. They should  be going to Sims sometime in the near future, unless they are to be in storage for a while.

Regards,

Rob.

The units at Gascoigne Wood are reported as follows: 142009/015/038/039/050 and 066.
Certainly the withdrawals continue at some speed now we are getting closer to the timetable change this coming Sunday.

On 15th December 2019 another three Northern 142s left to meet their fate.

142086+142012+142079 worked 5Z42, 13.19 Holbeck Loco Sidings to Landore TMD, pictured here at Colne Bridge on the outskirts of Huddersfield.

STP paths are also in the system on 16th-20th December for 5G42, 10.46 Holbeck Loco Sidings to Gascoigne Wood Sidings (11.23), so it would seem more will be moving for storage there prior to onward movement for scrapping.

There are three 142’s lined up at Hull Botanic Gardens depot today. Sadly, from a train, it’s not possible to see the unit numbers. I guess they’ll soon be going for scrap too.

Rob.

You've probably seen the reply on another forum, but just in case you haven't, the three are 142021, 142026 and 142060.

Interesting to see they now have the RHS day headlight working now, when they were new that was purely a dummy , there was no switch for it unlike the 143s where it could be selected on a rotary switch

Rather like the 144s that originally did not have a marker light only position and a headlight was always displayed.
