Recommended Posts

Cheers! Very lucky! It's only the second time this year i've caught two at once, mind you my half an hour to an hour stay once or twice a week whilst swmbo do's some local shoppin' (For local People:crazy_mini:) is'nt a long enough stay for me to see more, i very nearly had a cl.66 loco' and 142 together last week just here...the 142 went away round the bend towards Bolton just as the 66 came towards me round the bend from Daisy Hill, they just missed each other by 20 seconds:rolleyes: Something to look forward to snapping one day i suppose.:D

And you got Westhoughton Parish Church and Town Hall in the background.

I also have a favour to ask. I'm looking to model the Wilton to Knowsley train and would love some boring side on and top shots of the containers and wagons please.

Regards,

John P

There will be a few similar to this in some of my monthly galleries if that would help;

Knowsley-Wlton binliner

I'll see if I can take some later this week when I'm along the Calder Valley when it's due to pass.

Pacers are still cropping up on the longer diagrams across the Pennines.  Northern 142058 at Brighouse on 15th October on the rear of 1J06, 09.24 Southport* to Leeds.

* but started from Wigan Wallgate due to the late arrival of the inbound service.

Is that a crack, near to the WIPAC lights, on the driver’s side of the 142’s cab? Can’t Northern, if it is a crack, get it repaired to keep things safe.

Rob.

Would seem to be.

Yeah, plus its a fibreglass moulding, I suspect if something big enough is going to hit it hard or fast enough, a relatively small crack isn't going to make much of a difference to how safe it is...

No crack evident on the front of Northern 142017 as it arrived at Brighouse this morning with 2W10, 11.53 Huddersfield to Leeds via Bradford Interchange.

The hourly local stopping service between Huddersfield and Castleford is still producing a class 142 from time to time, instead of the more usual class 153.

On a misty autumn morning Northern 142037 passes Ravensthorpe with 2O67, 09.56 Castleford to Huddersfield.

They did used to work in, whether all the diagrams for those services have transitioned to 15x and 195 units I don't know.

Today, Hope Valley, out from Sheffield on a 150, back on a 142. No pics, as I couldn't even get my phone out of my pocket it was so wedged (the guard couldn't get from the doors into the back cab, let alone try to take any tickets. The previous AND subsequent Hope Valley stoppers were cancelled due to staffing problems. I've no idea why they couldn't find a slightly bigger train on a Sunday, knowing that the two either side were cancelled. There must have been the previous train sitting around idle in Manchester somewhere.
