ViTrains Class 37 lowering?

Recommended Posts

I’ve searched the forum and the Vitrains section within the manufacturers seems to have disappeared.

But I seem to recall there was a method for lowering the class 37 and class 47, to improve the look. Does anyone else recall what you did to achieve this?

Hi Rich

I have 3 Vitrains 37s - all you have to do is bend down the two small pins that stick out either side of the gear tower - that should lower it by a couple of mm.

Regards Rob

If you put vitrains in the search tool, you get sixty pages of references dating back to 2009. Possibly a search using 'vitrains 37 lowering' as a search term might have been more closely focussed! So there is still content here.

Given that they are effectively defunct in the UK, and other currently active manufacturers like Union Mills and OOWorks don't have manufacturer slots, hardly surprising they have been deleted.

It’s still useful reference material that use to be under Vitrains, so a shame for it to be lost. The stuff under the RMweb archive is no longer accessible following the upgrade.

The problem of the digital age!
