Can the Met electric loco’s work in multiple?

Not been on here for awhile but I was asked by a friend if the former Met electric loco’s could work in multiple or did they have to be dual crewed?  I used to remember these things but I’m getting old lol.

Don't think that they could run in multiple, I don't think that there isa  control socket to allow it . I doubt that there was anything so heavily loaded on the Met that would need double heading anyway. I do recall that if there was a need to shift two at once, then the trailing loco was 'dead' although it may have been crewed.

Given the absence of any visible sockets for the control jumpers, the answer would be no. Plus, they were of sufficient power to handle anything that the Met wanted of them without resorting to double heading.

I rather suspect that two working together on full power might have tripped the circuit breakers.
