Caledonian Railway no. 419 is currently touring various preserved railways.

 

In 2019 it visited the:

  • Churnet Valley Railway
  • East Lancashire Railway
  • Swanage Railway
  • North Norfolk Railway
  • Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway

I'll have to go see her on the North Norfolk, It's a long time since I acted as a gopher, doing work on her at the old site in Falkirk. Though I was in Bo'ness last week I didn't have time to go down to the SRPS.

It worked the DMU diagram on the Glos and Warks yesterday but was removed part way and replaced by the class 26, with a reoccurrence of the same issue (bearing?) that caused issues elsewhere, according to a friend who was onboard.

419 is visiting Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway on 25th-28th June. Full details: https://www.embsayboltonabbeyrailway.org.uk/events/railwayrally

 

Standard tickets entitle you to two round trips starting at Embsay at either 10:30 or 13:30. The Breakfast Express (10:30) and Afternoon Tea (12:00, 13:30 & 15:00) in the LNWR Saloon on the Friday is one round trip.

 

25 June: 419 on Mark 1 carriages & LNWR Saloon.

26 & 27 June: Mark 1 carriages hauled by 419 on one trip and double headed with Keighley Gasworks No. 2 on the other. A trip on the NER Autocar trip to Bow Bridge is also included.

28 June: 419 with vintage carriages.

Last weekend 419 was at the Battlefield Line.
