ckp
I have just acquired one of these kits. It has a Tenshodo motor but in the box it says it contains a Ks HP2M motor which needs Romford 20 to 1 gears with a small bore gear wheel. Does anyone know where to get the suitable gears for the Tenshodo?
crompton 33
Hi. The only tenshodo motors i've used don't need gears . You just fit them in side the bogie frams. Here is a link take a look you will see the one you have . https://www.roxeymouldings.co.uk/category/43/tenshodo-00-gauge-motor-bogies/ Hope this helps . ckp
It is only a motor and not a bogie. Please see photo.
robert17649
Branch lines do a suitable gearbox usually fairly strightforward to find and fit.wi Zara models can also provide, as can Markits, I have used all three types with this sort of motor fairly succesfully, adding a fllywheel is useful too

The motor appears to come with a pair of worms and wormwheels. You can work out the reduction ratio by counting the teeth on the black wormwheels. Tenshedo motor bogies have a reputation for running like scalded cats - probably because the reduction ratio is too low. You might be better off consulting High Level Kits; ( http://www.highlevelkits.co.uk/pacemakerpage.html ); about motorising your kit. It's Anbrico, by the way. Regards, John Isherwood. I'd agree with the High Level Kits route this one being a possible alternative to the Pacemaker.
