Looking at the three photographs that Paul has posted that were taken in May 2021, all still seem to have lighter patches on both the barrel and the ends, which are presumably where the grey livery underneath still shows through the rust and grime that has built up over the top. Are all of the weathered wagons going to be like that or will the showcased version be the heaviest weathering and the other two or three will have lighter patches (like the KBA)? Good afternoon Dungrange, thank you for your post and comments. There will be four different weathered versions of our TEA, the example that you mention will have a heavier weathering finish. This is to offer some variety and try to replicate the weathering similar to those in the links below: Please note that each side of the wagon will be different. Dungrange Posted July 22, 2021 Share Posted July 22, 2021 Perhaps it's a lighting issue, but none of the wagons in these photographs seem to be quite as brown as the model shots posted on 25 June (apart from perhaps the barrel end in the third photograph). I note that test shots were posted on both 4 February and 21 February and these appear to be a lighter, and in my opinion, a more realistic brown colour. In fact some shots, like the very top one in the above post seem to have weathered to a much greyer shade of brown. If each wagon is has different weathering and the weathering on each side is different then that means that the triple pack that I have on order should have six slightly different weathering patterns, so hopefully that means that there will be at least three that I like. :-) Some of us are very hard to please!!!! I expect I'm mistaken but I cannot remember seeing a grey wagon go a similar colour. There were plenty of grey tank wagons and they got covered in grime and faded but brown... The schelerien bogies can be sourced from either S-Kits/Stenson Models/Olivias. Sorry to hijack the thread but those look brilliant. I have 10 of these to do for my Little man (and myself) and are just waiting on bogies and buffers as they are a bit battered and bruised.
