2mm Andy
I've just added some more information to the initial post above on the various attractions on offer at Tutbury in just over 4 weeks time. I've been told by our Events Officer that updated details will be in the next 2mm Magazine (due out at the end of May) and will also be sent to the 2mm SA webmaster to go on the 2mm Scale Association website (www.2mm.org.uk) shortly. Hope to see you there - remember that the event is open to all, not just 2mm Scale Association members. Andy PS> There is also a 7mm narrow gauge event being held at Burton Town Hall on Saturday 8th (celebrating 40 years of the 7mm NG Association) - the two venues are only 6 miles apart, so it should be possible to visit both if you want. 1

RMweb Premium Ian Smeeton Posted June 8, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 8, 2019 PSJ came out to play today. This is the first time that all three scenic boards have been seen outside their normal dark and dingy home aka my Garage. It was nice to see the minds' eye view coming to something approaching reality. Loking 'North West' with Underwood Yard to the right, and St James 'proper' in the Background. And from the Gourock end, St James Station in the foreground, and the well stocked (at least to start with) Central Shop in the background. (I blew my budget, rapidly, and could esily have spent more) I thoroughly enjoyed the day, chatting to a lot of new (to me) faces, and one or two who have been lurking on line, and a few others that I have met before. The amount of interest in PSJ was very encouraging, and I hope that I have managed to encourage at least a couple of folk to have a go, particularly with track building. Many thanks to John Adrick for putting up with my work in progress, and to everyone else who helped make this such an enjoyable day. My only regret was that although I managed a quick tour round the rest of the layouts, I left my camera in my coat, so didn't take any other photos. Hopefully someone else will be along in a while to show what you missed. Regards Ian 7 1

RMweb Gold bcnPete Posted June 9, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 9, 2019 I would just like to echo my thanks to John Aldrick and everyone who organised the 2mmFS event. The Friday afternoon journey up was a 4hr drive from London with Tom Tom Sat Nav spitting me off the motorway before Brum and next thing I was cutting through narrow country lanes, giving way to tractors before depositing me back on the motorway again. The return trip yesterday was a tidy, smoother 2hrs 45 on the M1. Great to see some layouts in the flesh for the first time (Parkend, Colwyn Bay Goods, Glencruitten and Paisley St James) and others which I have seen before but get better each look (Lightermans Yard, Corrieshalloch) Some great demonstration stands too and seeing the 2mm Association shop in full glory was like ‘a kid in the sweet shop’ scenario which was so overwhelming I ended up buying nothing ...oh well...time for an online order... Here’s a few pics - apologies I missed some out... A really enjoyable day meeting fellow modellers in a relaxed friendly environment. It was very humbling to be in a room with so many great 2mm legends (both young and old) Thank you everyone for the inspiration and kind comments on my work. See you in Derby 2020... RMweb Gold Robert Shrives Posted June 9, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 9, 2019 To add my weight - a great day and good to see so many layouts working well and yes the shop was quite a sweet shoppe ! - £70 poorer but I am sure it will all come in useful. Seeing the Highland Railway well represented was good for my interests. Thanks to all involved and with heading towards 100 "footfalls" a very successful time had and the food and drink was very good as well - an all important part of the day.. D869
(apologies for inadvertently putting this in the PSJ thread at the first attempt) Some photos from my camera. I will plead the same excuse as others for not providing photographic coverage of the whole lot. Steve Nicholls' exquisite 'Parkend' - I've been hoping to see this for a while so was glad when I heard that Steve had been roped in for Tutbury Glencruitten airship base - an interesting prototype - certainly a new one on me. Mr 'Shunting Tractor' Adams was snapped in the act of having a play with the Hayle tractor test bed. I really should have cleaned up my cake oriented detritus before getting the camera out though. 10
