t8hants
Going through some old photos I came across this picture that I took aged 7, when we were off on our holidays to South Wales. The only railway photo I ever took, apparently of 4931 Hanbury Hall, I think taken at Salisbury, I seem to remember we had to change at Salisbury from Portsmouth Harbour, probably the spring or autumn of 1961. Little merit as a picture and taken on an ancient 120 roll film camera, the boy wouldn't get out of the way.
RMweb Premium Andy Kirkham Posted March 20, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 20, 2019 (edited) I'm about the same age as you and I have vague memories of BR steam (living on the Western Region, my chances to see steam ended when I was barely 10) but no tangible souvenirs. If I had a photo such as this it would be precious to me irrespective of the quality. Pictures like this have a charm of their own. Thanks for sharing. Peppercorn
t8hants, "Little merit as a picture ..." - that's as maybe, but it's a delightful picture anyway for it shows an everyday scene, notwithstanding the boy. And look how clean that locomotive is. Thanks for showing us!
