Why not use a 6" space in front of the fiddle yard for a warehouse loading platform ?..or something similar to hide the fiddle yard, just a thought...

No problem there Clive the buses are on strike as the drivers are fed up of the companies they work for being sold off :banghead:

Question for Andy......do you now need a harness suspended from the roof of TOPS to access the operating / work area ..... if so you could now just drift from one layout to another as the will takes you :imsohappy:

I'm told I can swing both ways, but just do one Layout at a time normally, as in this morning, some pics MAY appear soon.

I must be getting better at woodwork, joints ALMOST line up, and a fairly neat finish to the swivelling Sector Plate.

The top sides overlap the end for a flat alignment.

And underneath there is a block to stop the plate rising, again to eliminate vertical rising.

And the finished article.

There’s something nice and simple (and adjustable) about working in wood. Your curved edge looks good.

I must confess to misreading your swivelling Sector Plate as ‘snivelling’ Sector Plate. Puts a whole different (incorrect) feel to it! :-)

Paul.

Won't those overlapping sides hit the tracks on the fixed board?? :scratchhead: :dontknow:

nice plan and inspiration though - & I like your previous Scottish N Scale layout too - I'd not seen that before, RMweb is so big it's very easy to miss some gems!!

How about . . .

a slight overlap, say 1/4” (6mm for the younger generation) which will be enough to keep the vertical alignment, and also overhang the sector plate rails by the same 1/4”.  You won’t (I assume) be separating the plate from the board so the track will still be adequately supported and protected.

And ‘cos it’s wood it’s easy to alter (see above!).

HTH.

Another adventure begins....

One looses track.....or train of thought, but never run out of steam.....following all these builds.

Are you by any chance trying to get in the Guinness Book of Records for building as many layouts as you can in a year?

Very nice to see you return to a proper scale that I understand!

Better to find out now, though, rather than after track laying. ;)
