Cheers,

Phil.

Excellent views Phil. Although the less-than-Aston Martin standards of panel-beating are no surprise I do wonder if it was strictly necessary to have so many competing angles. It gives the impression that it's going to leak like a sieve! But I'm sure appearances are deceptive.....;)

Certainly a lot there to get right.

Feel sorry for the modellers out there trying to scratch build one first....

There must be several potential Mainline 56’s that will be suitable as test doners, buried at the back of cupboards. I know I have two!

Cut & shut with various above cant rail height roof bits off Lima 60s and 66s, I reckon job's a good-un!

Maybe they should name one Donna

That name is already reserved for the Turkish built 70099, later to become 70801.....

69001 and 002 light engine came through our village station on the East Coastway line heading to Ashford at c11:40 today. Were so quiet didn’t clock they were coming until they were whizzing through! Sadly therefore no photo.

Can't wait to see these two on freight. Here's to hoping they pass through my town at some point :)

Also I do apologize if I'm being a bit thick, but since some of the 56s to be be converted are Romanian built, does that mean they will look in anyway different to the UK built ones that have and will be rebuilt? If I remember correctly one said Romanian grid has the buffer beam cowling;any chance at all that it might keep it?
