Hi Alex,

I'm using my Huawei P20 mobile phone with Leica lens.

I'm not sure if that constitutes a National Security risk?

Bit of cropping and editing on the phone. Then on to Flickr.

Nice and easy.

Thanks,

Mark

This afternoon Skylark undertook a spot of shunting at Wadenhoe Road under the watchful eye of Archibald Houghton and his trusty Fowler traction engine..

Steamy action...

Lovely layout. Great pictures. Look forward to seeing more photographs.

Do you have a track plan and size of the layout available?

What are you using for uncoupling wagons and coaches?

Evening EB,

Thanks for your kind words.  Much appreciated.

I'm taking the layout apart tomorrow so I'll try and get an helicopter shot for you. Watch this space.

Size wise Wadenhoe Road is about 4ft x 1ft. Again I'll measure it tomorrow.

Couplings are a mixture of Minitrains and Peco. On the Bachmann Baldwin's I replaced the Bachmann couplings for Peco ones due to compatability issues.

Uncoupling wise a piece of wire or a small screwdriver.

Thanks once again.

Mark

Blown back safely across the M62 this evening after an excellent show at Rainford and NG North.

Thanks to Stan and his team for organising a brilliant day. Great selection of layouts, traders and loverly catering.

Great to catch up with Andy, David and Charles also.

A few snaps of Wadenhoe Road today...

Pizza tastic..

Wadenhoe Road really does have a nice look and feel to it, Mark. The last two pictures are spot on.

Top stuff.

Thanks for your kind words Rob.

There were some nice comments from peeps at the show re: the look of the layout and it's presentation.

Thankfully the layout managed to behave itself especially with my line in electrics department. Certainly not my favourite aspect of building a model railway...

Cheers,

Mark

Having just found the thread I have to say it has been a very enjoyable read from start to finish on a miserable Sunday morning.

An excellent minimalist layout which exudes atmosphere and is a real credit to you and your modelling techniques.

I agree with the above Mark - those two pictures nail it :good:

Nice to see the layout with some stock that matches the Rail gauges too :D

Any more shows lined up?

Thanks Pete ;)

The pseudo photo plank is back in its 009 guise.

Wadenhoe Road it's due to appear at the Scalby show in July.

Cheers,

Nice to have cheered your Sunday morn up with Wadenhoe Road bgman.

The open minimilist feel hopefully brings a sense of calm to the setting portraying that sleepy railway backwater feel.

Thanks,

Exactly. Calm and charm, in an environment and era when rural railways, in harmony with rural life, were rather slower-paced. I am aware of, and follow, several other RMweb layouts that exude the same relaxing atmosphere. They are a welcome contrast to the "Clapham Junction on speed" theme that model layouts are more often noted for.

Thanks Ian.

Do like the calm and charm discription :)

Will use that one at a later date when discussing Wadenhoe Road I think ;)

Good to meet up with you again on Saturday, Mark. Onwards to Scalefour North . . .  not with Waddenhoe Road obviously!

I felt quite the outsider conversing with three people from Northamptonshire :o
