enginelane
Yes and to the left a new member to the team has carved out a very nice stream bed that will run into a boggy area and to the right another new member to the team has roughed in the bridge supports for the bridge providing farm access. Today looking to improve on the tug for the Tom Puddings with rounded hull profile, hatches and of course a name!

enginelane
Revised layout requires a short fiddleyard to hold trains off to the rest of the world and a short stub to hold wagons being pushed through the unloader on the quay. Found some bits in the garage to knock up the rest of the world fiddleyard.
enginelane
Rainy afternoon so thoughts turned to making the hopper work. Some channel to provide the sides of a simple slide and creates a working shutter.
calvin Streeting
nice relly want to look at stuf like this my self (goods handeling) . if you could use 2 slides inner and final drop you might find it easyer to control amount droped..
enginelane
Yes agree and using woodland Scenics ballast I had to hand the small size does get caught up in the slide side pieces and creates a jam. At the moment the layout has one booking appearance at Wakefield 2019 to show what happened to a GMRC Series 1 Layout so it’s a balancing act in getting it right to run properly at the show with an uncertain future afterwards. So double shutter would be good but is it over complicating to run for 2.5 days?

Thought would be a simple job but taking jonks to get sorted! end fiddleyard looks right size and no it’s not in place at the right height!
enginelane
A quick update on progress. The rest of the world fiddleyard has been completed by Keith and the push through for the empty wagons at the loading deck is on its way. wiring up is still being completed now the track plan has been finalised. work on the canal continues through illness has cut down on the modelling time. Using a spare half of the lumber yard the wood store has been constructed along with it some of the wood to be stored. Hull was a major port for wood imports and during the war was moved out of the docks as a major target. On the WRMS wood was taken by canal barge to the small dock, a wood store constructed and wood taken by rail. Provides an additional use for the siding and traffic for the line. enginelane
There are days when a plan does come together and last night planets must have aligned as great progress made! New member Andrew has completed the gunpowder store based upon a British Army example from South Africa, lock area more or less all plastered in awaiting scenic details, buildings to be re used from the now defunct club layout Earlsheaton and the club’s resident back scene artist has made start on the painted back scene! Yes there is lots to do but great to see the progress!
enginelane
After dropping off wife at the station spent a couple of hours working on the canal stone loader and adding stone sheet to the canal side. enginelane
Using mdf cut offs from the laser cutter buildings from another WRMS layout knocked up a basic shell with a simple slider mechanism.
