Please can anyone say whether they are aware of any clerestory Passenger stock from the big 4  in era 3 being converted to carry parcels?

If so are any such represented in Hornby stock that might be ripe for a modelling conversion?

Thank you

From memory I believe that some people have made a clerestory full brake by cutting up two of the short non corridor coaches and joining the brake sections together with a guards compartment in the middle, something like a 40ft van. Not sure if they used bits from the Ratio 4 wheeled coaches, which I think have similar panelling, to stretch out the middle section a bit.

The grey cells have a vague recollection of a clerestory coach ( full Third ? ) downgraded for parcels use in one of Jim Russell's numerous GWR Carriages volumes.

Not quite sure if this is what you are after, but the LBSCR had two bogie Royal Mail vans, buit in 1897, that were converted, in 1921, into full brakes, with a central ducket and clerestory roof.

Unfortunately the clerestory roof is domed at each end. (Some writers have incorrectly described these vans as having been built to run with the royal train, presumably because of the similarlity of the roof design)

There was the GW Ref Van, an ex-Royal Train clerestory that wandered around the system supplying linen to the company's hotels.

IIRC there is a picture of the van on this service in one of the GW in the 1930s volumes.

The Grey Cells managed to track down Russells Appendix Vol.2 - and found "Fig. 393 shows an old clerestory coach, built originally to Diagram C10 in 1897, after conversion to a parcels van in 1940. There were eight such vehicles, Nos. 2925, 2931, 3005, 3067, 3131, 1305 and 1767. The converted coaches were given Diagram M28." It's a 46' eight-compartment non-corridor Third which appears to have been modified by inserting a second door to the right of the existing one in the second & seventh compartments and blanking off the former quarterlight & panelling adjacent with a full height plain ( steel ? ) sheet - so the thing's not symmetrical - all other windows painted over or replaced with plywood and, presumably, everything stripped from inside : tatty plain brown livery with a shirtbutton.

Yes, either Mr.Russell or you and I can't count !
