Simon Moore
Thought i would share my layout on here with a few photos. Brenton Midland is a fictitious station on the old midland mainline between Sheffield & Chesterfield operated by East Midland trains. Brenton has a small yard which is mearly part of a bigger Brenton decoy yard hidden the other side of the bridge. The yard has a small food manufactures which is rail served with the resident DBS gronk usually on duty. The yard serves also as a starting point for steam specials with transfer from diesel to steam happening here. Passenger services are by Cross country with a hired in Virgin voyager, EMT hst covering the Sheffield to London services plus locals from Northern & EMT. Freight is covered by all the major companies so its a good spot for railfans. The layout is currently set up in the garage for home use but it is portable for exhibition use & has a booking for Keighley show next March which i am really looking forward to. My current projects are to get the locos weathered & the rolling stock & progressively upgrading the locos to all have sound. The DCC system is NCE powercab with a DCC concepts 5amp booster system which is excellent apart from the noisy fan on the power supply. Melangoose
I remember seeing the layout when under control of the previous owners. It’s a great layout and I am pleased that it’s back on the Exhibition circuit. Remember to take some pictures on your outing.
sammyboy
A great layout. I remember reading about this as a 'Railway Of The Month' in a Railway Modeller (Can't remember which one!) and I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures. Sam
Simon Moore
Since taking over Brenton my intention was always to go back in time to when i was a lad & have trains i remember running. Slowly away it is starting to happen i've a few spaces in the fiddle yard to finish off some trains but it is getting there. The next job will be to make sure ever loco is sound fitted but for now here is some shots from a weekend session playing trains in the late 80's / early 90's. My latest project was to use the Bachmann 08 in grey & make a Tinsley unofficial namer The Tyke.
Simon Moore
Sorry for not posting for a while we've got a newborn so getting into the garage to do anything has been hard. As normal service is resuming I'm starting to do a bit. Yesterday I weathered a 37 for the layout I hope to post a few pictures later today.
