and more info will come tomorrow in the stream they're taking part in.

They have a dedicated Thomas stream on Feb 18 so more details will Probably come then as well.

The museum coaches sound interesting. Given that they're brown and white, and given that the TV series only featured a brake coach in that livery, I wonder if this is Bachmann's devious way of selling LBSC coaches without actually selling LBSC coaches, as it were.

Aye, I except Daisy and Peter Sam updates, along with ones on the NG brakes. Otherwise they're caught up besides the stock that was just announced and clearly only has recently begun development, ie, Ryan and Toby. We've seen LS Diesel all painted up and the new LS Paxton model is in the catalog and was shown off in Saturday's stream, so that just leaves the announcements from mid-2019 and the brake vans.

Wow, Diesel looks nicely sinister with those moving eyes.  I might have to get one for the embryonic garden line... I always liked Diesel. I wonder how long it will take Smallbrook to do a kit to turn into a more realistic 08? :)

Lets hope they don't. Taking kids toys and kit bashing them into something more realistic for an adult seems wrong somehow. Akin to taking candy from a baby.

It would be nice to see Thomas models being sold at more reasonable prices so they are accessible to children saving up their pocket money. Its not as if they are highly detailed, hell they don't even have cabs let alone cab detail. When I compare a Bachmann Thomas loco to something like a Hornby Peckett for example, I find it ludicrous they go for the same sort of money.

I guess its probably academic now though. With CGI Thomas giving way to the new 2d cartoon version, which looks like its aimed at pre-schoolers, the future of Thomas toys for kids is likely to be trackmaster and the push along wooden stuff more suited to kids of that age.

it would but it’s the reality of tooling up a working model for a relatively niche market and there are other toy Thomas electric trains at more pocket money prices. The likes of Bachmann are producing in much lower volumes than the millions by Tomy or Ertl so the unit costs are inevitably higher.

But the Peckett doesn’t have a multinational Toy company taking a large license fee out of their costs :)

I’m afraid the two pretty much cost the same when all the costs are added up.

If you bought a Thomas set, a couple of locos and say ten wagons it’s comparable to a Console, steering wheel, extra handset to play with friends and a few games.
