RMweb Premium polybear Posted April 23, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 23, 2019 I've just returned from a business trip to to South Korea, involving a journey from Seoul to Changwon (near Busan) on the KTX :) (thanks Boss). I was expecting speeds in the order of 190 mph; however I've a suspicion that we weren't travelling at anywhere near that figure (based on previous journeys on the ECML). Can anyone offer any insight as to how fast the KTX might travel over this route please - thanks. Brian
sncf231e
When I rode the KTX in 2008 there was a screen showing the speed; we did reach 300 km on the way back to Seoul. Regards Fred
RMweb Premium polybear Posted April 24, 2019 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted April 24, 2019 Many thanks; the screens are still there, though I didn't notice any speed displayed (though in fairness I was more inclined to look out of the window). Cheers, Brian
RMweb Premium jjb1970 Posted June 29, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 29, 2019 I love Korea (well, the RoK, I've never visited the DPRK), beautiful country, wonderful food and all rather clean and well kept. The rail system is very good and is a good way to get around, and not just the high speed trains.
