Oh I forgot to add, the signal approaching the garage was always getting knocked / battered (mostly by the local felines) so this has been swapped out for a low level signal....

assuming that’s red and yellow, are you able to swap the positions of the LED’s as on the ground, red should be at the top, closer to drivers eye level and last to get buried in snow

Good point ...... alas the LED's have been super glued in place so lets hope we have no snow. Now you mention it I believe Sheffield / Leeds Station had the red aspect on the top on the ground signals in the 70/80's

Hello. Going back a little… what’s your CCTV set up? I’ve got a blind spot on my outdoor track ( conveniently at a Halt! ) where this would be very useful. I’ve been round the houses on eBay etc but not found anything suitable. Thanks

As the weather is nice and I have fed SWMBO & myself I feel it is time to sit in the garden with a cold beverage, maybe two …. But as I was seated all I could hear was the evening freight passing Ayr Road Sidings, 25912 on a mixed freight bound for Oldbrook Junction.

and finally the drone shot

Well following last nights freight hauled by 25912, sadly it failed on route and had to be relieved and shunted to the siding until it can be rescued …. All the top bods were out to see if anything could be done for it to move under it’s own power, no was the answer..

Here’s the view from the bridge

As it trundled through Oldbrook Junction a couple of lucky rail enthusiasts were there to record the moment.

Now off to Knowmoor MPD care of 40099 to get the fault rectified.

Another lovely day where Ray & I have started installing the signals on the outside part of the railway but it is too warm to be putting the tools down and when you pick them up you burn your hands .....:swoon:

Anyway as we were installing the first signal DPD knocked on the door to place this in my arms. I ordered this 10 weeks ago and it has finally arrived ....... Ray don't forget to bring the PVA with you on Thursday :D

Looks like a Greenwood Kit Jim. I've built a 4mm one for my HO Australian outline stuff but I need to finish the deck. Nice Kits.

Al, you are correct …. Although a lovely kit, the instructions let it down I think… After cutting the hole I take it the you screw the turntable to the bottom of the surface?

Your right there. I was missing a part but couldn't work out which! Got sorted in the end. If I remember right you cut the hole to fit the inner rings, then depending on the depth of your board mount use however many outside rings you need to get the inner to the level you want.  I think you can attach it from top or bottom just need to rebate the board a little. All the garden railway stuff is piled up on the HO boards but I'll try and clear it and take a picture.

Thanks Al, talking to my opo Ray we have just agreed to similar by taking the rings off and then drilling the exact same holes on the rings in the board and then nut and bolt from the top with additional bracing on the underside….

If you do get time, no rush, any pictures would be great as I may add them to my thread so if anyone else needs them then at least they are not in the dark when installing their turntable

Sorry for highjacking the thread, but that's a top looking B61. I always liked the Westcoast Railways livery.

Cheers Peter.

Started to install the turntable well yesterday with Ray and it all went very well with minimal modifications to the baseboard structure. Then this morning I had to remove it in order to conduct the painting around the well wall.

So after a paint job and then the reinstatement of the turntable, next job was to install the well rail, which seemed to take ages but it went together in the end. I can't go much further with the bridge section until Mike sends me some bits as these were missing from the kit.

Turntable is looking ace Jim.

Thanks Al, it's just a pity some of the bits are missing and the sides need re-cutting as they don't have holes where they are suppose to be but Mike has said he'll sort it.

Yeah, its a shame as they are nice kits. I had a a couple of bits missing and a couple of bits which were cut ever so slightly wrong, but it just meant I had to take a file to them, soon sorted.

I've just had a thought - silly me!

Do we need to re-instate the outer ring that you're not currently using to bring the table level closer to the adjacent track height which is on the cork or maybe swap the thin outer ring in the stack for the thick one we've not used - or are you thinking of tapering the cork thickness down to zero?
