Here's "Shunter Sid" in his usual railwayman pose, leaning and enjoying a cuppa before the arrival of the next stock at Ayr Road Sidings.....

What a cracking day outside .....the sun is shinning and not too cold.....

So I thought I go and cut the lawn but got side tracked and thought I'll give the track a quick clean and give the Class 40 a quick test run..:dance_mini:

No idea why but the Heljan 47 looks so much better in any livery with black window surrounds!

A bit of a frost this morning as the Vauxhall (Bedford) Viva's screen is showing and it probably will need a bump start:agree:

You've just sparked a memory - many years ago I worked with a lad whose brother worked for Segas, the South Eastern Gas Board as it was before privatisation.  He was provided with a Bedford Beagle van which he was able to take home, while for his own transport he owned an HA Viva saloon.  Every time the van went in for a service, the next weekend it would be stripped of the new plugs, points, filters and oil which were then swopped on to the Viva saloon ...

A very atmospheric layout, excellent work.

Purchased this as a kit (I believe it's a Westdale) with lots of parts missing so I had to get creative and either make or try and source parts.....

In the end it turned out ok and is now a runner on the layout

Ignore the small piece of red tape..... we found the bogie was touching the chassis resulting in it shorting but this has been resolved.

A little bit off piste today.......:offtopic:

The good thing about my travel to work in the rush hour in today's present climate........

Get dropped off at the station..... right outside the front doors....... Tick

Don't even have to show my pass to the nice folk on the barriers, they just smile and wave you through. Tick

Onto platform 4 where the train has already arrived and waiting for moi to board and not have trouble finding a seat.  Tick

IMG_4769.jpg.20aede2ad3ed83cd17f31930b6d6e0a1.jpg

A whole carriage to myself .........  Tick

Arrival at Euston where we were held outside for 5 minutes and nothing left..... somethings never change !!!!! No Tick ... Room for improvement

IMG_4783.jpg.edf8951da76fb00a5da078a53a1e6931.jpg

Could have a good game of football on the concourse......more staff than punters.... Tick

Finally onto the last leg of my journey a quick walk around to Euston Square and had to wait 2 minutes for my train .... Tick

IMG_4784.jpg.3e3a56197e38ba86f53ae737e457d9b9.jpg

Social distancing at it's best..... Tick

All in all left home at 0745 and in the office within 55 minutes......with no pushing or shoving....:D Huge Tick

Let the train take the strain

Not just me then. We did a tour of a new office before it was kitted out and all I could think of was the cracking game of 5 a side we could have every day if they left it empty! Pillars for defenders etc.

Due to a lack of passenger working 55015 Tuylar has been utilised for the PCA diagram, seen passing Ayr Road Sidings (Similar to 55022 when it was utilised for in 2011)

Afternoon

Well the sun was out so I thought I'll give the 56 an outing today.

56040 "Oystermouth" climbing the gradient to Ayr Road... This is seriously one noisy loco.
