Andy, yesterday pop up google adds started appearing on the mobile version and are a pain in the wotsit as they keep randomly descending as you click on a topic and you open the add instead! They are also very distracting as some are animated. You can tap the arrow to push them up but they randomly pop down again. Any idea how to disable it as it’s worrying me what link I’m going to get at some point!

Just blummin done it as I’m typing!!!  The x is do small my big fingers struggle to cancel it without opening it.

As you can see from the screenshot timings at the top it’s done it three times in four minutes :ireful:

I noticed that too last night Paul - thought I'd had some adware come in whilst installing a camera app yesterday. I'm on the case with IT - yesterday's security update seems to have done something!

Worryingly,  mine show adverts for stairlifts,

They are Google Ads served based on your browsing history.

Yup, these arrived on my iPad this morning... definitely a site specific thing, it only happens on RMweb, these are google ads even though I am using Safari browser.

They are SO annoying, constantly interrupting the site experience.  I thought it was some kind of push tactic to get users to take up RM gold...

At least mine were for stylish clothing and business :)

Just switched on the Adblocker on my mobile, that's got rid of them.

Quite frankly Adblock software should be standard issue on all devices and computers.

I don’t mind the ads that were there before... RM web needs funding from ads to keep the free-to-user business model viable.  But that drop down thingy from the top of screen gives me a very negative, frustrating user experience.

As I've said we're trying to resolve it.

Maybe the software update changed previously inline ads with this stupid popup/slider. This may take until next week to address.

I'm running Chrome on Android pie. I only get the scroll down ads when viewing in portrait mode, but get it in addition to the inline ad.

Additionally, when in portrait mode, the ads seem to be generic, usually for Warners. When portrait, I get ads for retailers and manufacturers, all model railway related. This has been since day one of the software

Perhaps its a ploy to get us to go to RMWeb Gold.

subscribe and you don't get the adverts. :)
