Consequently I had to take things easy, but I managed to get some things done. Seafang, this is finished, not helped by Trumpeter's incorrect scale and googly eyed roundels (fortunately I had spares) - first Aircraft kit finished this year. I also resumed work on a kit I hadn't worked on since May last year.. Yes that is a Westland Whirlwind. I also started another Warbird, but I'm not going to tell you what it is... And no it isn't a P-47D Thunderbolt I've been doing some Railway work, the match truck is on hold temporarily and the AA6 is now in primer to see where clean up is needed. However I finally completed one of my personal projects - another Star with Castle elbow steam pipes.. And finished building a Cambrian Loriot W which a client had started - this will go into paint this week. I will get a blog entry up for the Seafang this week at some point and possibly another update. Until then TTFN. The plane looks a lot like a P36 Mohawk.

Similar - the 'no it's not a P-47D' was actually a clue. It's a Republic P-43B/C Lancer..
RMweb Gold toboldlygo Posted June 15, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted June 15, 2021 Time for an update: Currently on the bench AA6 Permanent Way Van, all painted, will be decalled later this afternoon. Loriot W - again at the same stage the AA6. M13 Newspaper Van, a new acquisition for a client. It needed replacement screw link couplings and is just awaiting decalling and weathering. Part 2 will be later today
RMweb Gold toboldlygo Posted June 15, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted June 15, 2021 So here's part 2... A mystery loco - in yellow (including a photobombing fly!).. A pair of complete Bulleids (seen elsewhere on the Forum - to please the masses). Decals are on the Loriot & M13 And if you've not seen the Blog, the Whirlwind was finished.. And the Crusader briefly returned to the bench for painting. And that is it for this update. 10
RMweb Gold toboldlygo Posted June 19, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted June 19, 2021 (edited) Another update.. I finished the AA6, Loriot & M13. The Yellow Peril was ready for her decals (they were applied this morning - forgot to take a photo). The Crusader is now partially decalled and the fuselage is nearly finished with painting. And this arrived... Edited June 19, 2021 by toboldlygo 10

RMweb Gold toboldlygo Posted June 27, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted June 27, 2021 It's been a busy week or so.. A few locos (one admittedly a chassis rework). A lot of rolling stock. Oh and I finished the F-8E Crusader... 11
railroadbill
56xx looks realistic...also those grubby SR coaches, certainly grubby in BR days. Does the Crusader wing hinge, or is it fixed?

Does the Crusader wing hinge, or is it fixed? Considering the 56/66xx is the old Mainline one that's a compliment - my client brought it on one of his frequent lunchtime trips to Beatties in Kingston back in the 80's (I've never seen so much Mainline stock). Makes a change from weathering GWR Rolling stock, lots of that to come in the coming weeks - 9 more this week, plus some 12 Wheels Pullmans. The Crusader you can either do the wing raised position or level in the instructions - though you need to make some adjustments to make the wing sit level. 1 1
RMweb Gold toboldlygo Posted July 4, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 4, 2021 Time for another update and it's back to the GWR... Hornby 57' Collett 'Bow Ended' stock (roof repaint and weathered).. (I think the corridor connectors were rather pleased) Collett 57' Suburban Stock, roof repaint, rebrand (from Shirtbutton to Coat of Arms) and lightly weathered. And a work in progress Parkside Dundas GWR Dia. O10 Open Wagon. Rumour has it, that this kit was unbuildable according to some sources 11

RMweb Gold toboldlygo Posted July 10, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 10, 2021 (edited) Another productive week.. The GWR Dia. O11 is finished. Weathered (and in one case renumbered) some 12 Wheel Pullmans... Finished another Wartime Black Pannier. Made more progress on the class 22's repaint. And today got the Lancer back on the bench.. I have the RAAF colours for it too (Australian Paints too). And started on a quick 1/48th Scale Tamiya build.. RMweb Gold toboldlygo Posted July 22, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 22, 2021 Where have the last 12 days gone - oops. I finished a couple of loco's. Some wagons.. Some trolleys.. A 'few' Modelu lamps (over a 100). Works in progress.. Well there's some wheel barrows.. The Lancer will be in paint this weekend. And possibly the Mustang III as well. 9
RMweb Gold toboldlygo Posted August 4, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 4, 2021 Oops a bit late in an update... The wheel barrow and tools were finished. Then I took a week or so's break from commissions to focus on work around the house and make progress on some Aircraft kits. The P-43C Lancer is on the final straight. And I've used Australian paints too - from SMS. The decals went down great however the white of the roundels needed some painting in. The Mk.III Mustang is starting to be painted, ironically I finished painting the prop first lol. I started on another kit in 1/48th Scale - Arma Hobby PZ P-11C. It's a really wow kit in quality, detail and fit. The cockpit.. The engine. The Fuselage built However then I got back to Railway stuff and a hell of a lot of soldering - Brassmaster's Match Truck, a lot of parts in small kit.. Tool boxes finally in place (double digits in parts to get them there). Today's progress might not look a lot, but there's a quite a few parts involved (10 so far in the I Beam). Time for lie down in a darkened room..
RMweb Gold toboldlygo Posted August 5, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 5, 2021 (edited) So today, I went on trip to the West Sussex coast to deliver a couple of boxes of stock (seen on here) to a client (one box was for his brother) and see his finally completed layout. I was left struck dumb, as apart from a few items of rolling stock (which haven't received my deft touch) everything else was my handiwork (including a few buildings and other bits you might recognise from this thread). A very neat and tidy looking layout - and THREE buses on the same bridge! If permitted, it would be good to see and learn more. 4

They layout is based somewhere on the GWR between Bristol & Gloucester and called 'Thornberry' and predominantly the War to Post War GWR. It's a 22' L shaped plank, which he had professionally built and it's DC. More to follow. 2 1

The track is Peco Bullhead OO fine scale, the points are all hand built (they all have Modelu point rodding), all the signals are ready to plant Dapol motorised ones. The control panel looks like it belongs in a nuclear reactor, but it very clear and easy to use. (Picture isn't as it was cropped from the goods shed photo). Even though it's DC it's possible to run three loco's on one line of track simultaneously and independent of each other. Oh and it's all lit too.
RMweb Gold toboldlygo Posted August 11, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 11, 2021 So this weeks been a bit of mixed bag so far. The match truck is still on going - though having a breather from it, after the insanity of the I Beam assembly. I pressed on with the Lancer and got it finished today. Mustang's in camo. And the P-11C is moving along nicely.
