Very nice. Can you tell us more about the nameboard please?

It came from Scale Model Scenery as did the bench sitting in one corner with the GWR lamps on it.

What aircraft is the Vallejo SEAC paint set going to grace?

It was on special on Amazon and all the colours I use quite a lot - so it made more sense to buy them like that ;)

Hope you're feeling 100%  now.

Re the Timber Tracks  "Thornbury"  signal box, one detail that really stands out to me is the signalman figure with his cloth seen over the lever!

Earlier on in the build you showed lighting being fitted, there is wiring leading to a "bar" that fits in the roof.  Can't see what that actually is, is it a lighting bar of some sort with a bulb at one end,  or is it just one bulb - or more than one perhaps?

At a about 80%, as I've still got the pinched nerve in my neck and a dodgy left knee.

The figure is from Modelu (painted by me), he's actually got one foot resting on the lever frame too.

The bar is just a bit of a wood BBQ Skewer glued in between the roof frames to attach the wiring too. There is a LED pointing towards the rear in the center - I've put a box round it in the photo below ;)

By coincidence I've also been doing some maintenance on my corvette which still needs some details fitted although it's had several hours sailing time. Several of the protective bagging that goes on the outside of the bridge had disappeared, probably at the bottom of the lake. [Not sure what they were called on the full size or what they were filled with]. So I've moulded some  replacements by pressing one of the kit  parts into a piece of plastoline to make a one sided mould, then taking the part out and filling the indentation with epoxy resin.  That's actually worked quite well and they look ok painted.   Just got to glue them back onto the ship now.

I'm not sure what they are called either.

In the meantime..

I suppose its "heel" was not having a lid on the turret?   I suppose that makes it a Chelsea Tractor.....:jester:

Looking good!

A quick question, as you've probably painted loads of them, what is your opinion of the Hornby star class?  When it came out the  "design clever" features got some flack,  but it could still be a reasonable representation.  I've seen them behind glass, but not running.

I've weathered and modified a lot Star Class, but only repainted one. They've got a lot of flack for their design-stupid features and poor QC, but on the most part they behave themselves.

Obviously the MFI shelves on the cab-sides have to go and be replaced by wire handrails. Also dependant on the batch the bogie wheels have the wrong number of spokes. The green is like Marmite - you either tolerate it or hate it (I've found an easy fix ;) ). Plus the packaging can sheer the permanent coupling mount on the tender clean off, two main options here replace the tender chassis or glue the mount back on (again I've found an easy fix) ;)

Enjoying this thread rather a lot, as much for the variety as anything else.

I built a RAF rescue launch many years ago (as a child-young teen). Mine was finished as 156.

I want to say that there were three numbers to choose from - 127, 143, and 156 - but I may be wrong. There were also detail differences between the vessels, but I forget what they were.

Many thanks.

Mine as the later red box release (2013), has 127 & 156 as the late war versions (more armour & guns) and 130 as the early war version (with just the two turret guns and a lot of yellow paint lol).

Also I've been told by a reliable source on another forum, that the real life ones may have been constructed on one of the island's on the Thames near Hampton Court.
