Dr Al
Hi, Does anyone know what components Dapol's PCBs use and the layout of this circuit? I have two locos with them out, and want to rectify this - I'm perfectly happy with soldering in new SMD components, rather than spend loads on replacement PCBs. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Best, Alan
Piemanlarger
This is the board with fire glow attached from a Dapol pannier. I hard wired my chips and the glow effect does nothing for me so I removed it Hope that's of some help??
Dr Al
Hi, Thanks for that. Does the board have components on the back side also? I'll need to figure out whether it's the controller circuit, or LEDs or both that are faulty on mine. Usual Dapol standard of soldering I see too.....lol! If you have no use of your boards please do let me know. Best, Alan
Piemanlarger
Here is the other side. I am putting the loco up for sale so it's going back in the box initially.
Dr Al
Thanks, that's useful. Do either of the chips (MCU or one below) have identification markings? Those are probably vulnerable, so look like suspects. Cheers, Alan

Richard No not in this instance, My Dapol Pannier was DC only with no decoder just the PCB and had the `annoying` flicker. I hard wired my own decoder (Zimo MX645)without this function and removed the cheap looking PCB board so it could`nt be a possible source of running issues in the future. Piemanlarger
Sorry I never got back to you. Lots going on last (bad) year. Just purchased a 57XX and guess what, the flickering dc unit will be coming out of it if any use to you?
Dr Al
Hi, Thanks for that - yes I'd be interested in that if you don't need it. Cheers, Alan
