I have heard a rumour that Modelu is now doing wildlife.

I thought they already were . . . :coolclear:

Good gnus

Will try to get down again as it falls on a weekend off, as long as I haven’t forgotten something . .

As a newbie to the Noble Realm, could you give me some details of the venue, timings, social events and likely places of accomodation? I have looked through the thread, and last year's, but couldn't find specifics.

Thanks,

Al

Hi Al,

The venue is the Staplegrove Village Hall, Staplegrove, Taunton.

The date is Sunday April 26th.

Accommodation: lots to choose from, I've got a room in one of the Premier Inns.

On the Saturday early evening,  we are invited to the Taunton Model Group's clubrooms on Bishop's Lydeard station, followed by a meal in the local pub.  Prior to that there is nothing formally arranged, but a trip on the WSR is a common option.

Full details will be published soon--ish.

Edit: see here for last year:

Definitely.

As the birthplace of so many noble steeds that graced the railways of the South West, it cannot be anything but within the Noble Realm, but beware, it may be within our borders, but it is close to the border with the uncharted and wild lands to the East and the North.

Dagworth, in Cheltenham, is our border Watchman in those parts. It is a lonely vigil, but a worthy endeavour. Perhaps we need a Watchman in Wiltshire as well?

I qualified whilst living in SE Australia.  Swindon ought to be close enough ;)

Ah, but you were an exile from Swagonia carrying out important diplomatic work in the Antipodes.

Hi,

Rather sadly, I'll be missing the SWAG do this year, I'm helping @Graham_Muz with Canute Road Quay at the Epsom Show instead.

I haven't missed one for a number of years and it has always been a real highlight of the year!

Roll on next year! (or is that a bit early?)

Dam date clash! It will be the first ever SWAG do I have ever missed despite living way over the border in Buckinghamshire!
I will be there in spirit just make sure everyone eats plenty of cake as I won’t be there in person to remind you!

This is extremely unfortunate news, although you are wished a successful show at Epsom in the most hearty terms.
