parkicat
Hi all I would like to try a Hornby TTS sound decoder, does anyone know whether it has or can have stay alive functionality? cheers Cathy
smokebox
I think it can be done but it's not a built in capability. It would require very fine soldering to the decoder, there are no ready made connection points.

Richard I tried it on one TTS chip - worked very well until I blew the chip havent tried any others since then but it wasnt down to the stay alive, it was static from me - I now use a soldering band when working with TTS chips to mitigate it and wrap in kapton tape to make it safe to handle afterwards.

I did a video on it last year, plus a number of diagrams, in case they're of use/help...
ovbulleid
I recently fitted a TTS chip to a Bachmann engine using a 21-8 converter chip. Are there points on the standard 21pin plate where a stay alive could go?
