Touche. I should have said, in three sections. Of course, I  might have a bus :)

I guessed that from later on in the thread, but it struck me as an “interesting” concept!

I hadn't thought of that!

It would only be right and proper to have a model pine forest in the back and a couple of Shay logging engines winching themselves along with a lot of log hauling flat cars in tow...

Damn.

Now I'm going to have to build another layout!

Must say Alex this is all looking rather atmospheric.

Nice and verdant and the buildings and 45xx set the scene nicely.

Looking forwards to further updates.

Cheers,

Great stuff, is that a trace of moss at the lowest end of the timber? It's also got me thinking about ash surfacing on platforms, because that is where I am at with my own model, having just put a coat of primer on the plasticard surface.

Not yet, but there needs to be more undergrowth around the bottom of the supports. The old track bed is going to be fun. By the period of my model, there was lots of vegetation growing through the old ballast, and what had been a nice laurel hedge on the side opposite the platform, was already advancing on to the disused ballast.

Do you include sprouts in that generalisation?

Alex

I do. Granted, much maligned but included for completeness.
