18B
evening, anyone know if this product https://www.Hornby.com/uk-en/viaduct.html can take double track across it and how it would stand up to the ravages of the garden?
RMweb Premium 47137 Posted May 14, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 14, 2019 This viaduct is for single track. I expect the plastic will go hard and brittle after lots of sunlight, but the model has been in Hornby's range for decades - if you ever needed a new one I'm sure you would find one easily. - Richard.

bigherb
If you paint it first, it will give some UV protection.
Les Bird
It shouldn't be too difficult to splice two kits together to make it suitable for double track. As it happens I have two going begging!
cypherman
I have seen 2 of these put together to make a double track viaduct by slicing off the sides off the sides of the piers and mating them together. But the actual bridge sections and the fake chains I believe would be far to fragile to stand up to any bad weather in your garden. OOPS my bad, I did not look at the link and thought you meant the Hornby Grand suspension bridge. Not the arches. rs4
Here’s my attempt from a few years ago. Six (?) glued together to make a double track viaduct, had it on my desk for a while.....
DCB
It won't stand up to the ravages of the garden. Make a mould off one and cast a few in concrete if you want something robust.
