RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted May 16, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 16, 2019 I've been meaning to ask this one for a while. Can anyone advise whether it does any harm to the magnets in can motors, such as Mashimas, if several motors are stored together in one small box or container, please? Thanks. RMweb Gold Mick Bonwick Posted May 16, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 16, 2019 I haven't got a clue. Yes, I know it's been said before.
jimwal
In my experience, no. The magnets are much more permanent than older open frame types. Even with these I have stored them stuck together by their opposite poles with no ill effect. If you buy a number of magnets at the same time they will be stuck together like this anyway. So I'd say its fine. Jim. 2
Il Grifone
I don't think it has any effect, but try not to store motors together 'just in case'.
JeffP
As a boy, we were taught to store magnets with opposite poles touching, Magnets were sold in pairs and with proper steel keeper plates. So if store together, they should be OK. 1
