Ford Thames Minibus

There’s one of these monstrosities on eBay at the moment. Apparently a rip off of the minix or lesney Ford Thames! Anyone seen one of these in the flesh!?

Its obviously based on the Thames 400E but unlike any die cast of the same.

It's not from a Spanish manufacturer, is it? I recollect someone doing things like a Thames Trader and other vehicles, back in the 1960s.

You're probably thinking of Anguplas/EKO, but they did the German FK1000 van, not the Thames (though they did the the Thames lorry - more on EKO here). This looks more like something from a Jamboree bag, probably loosely based on the Lesney Matchbox model.

A coat of paint (if anything will stick) and some glazing and it would be OK for a background model if viewed front on. It's better than, eg. those Langley(?) whitemetal  N scale Land Rovers that are so distorted that they look like they've been sat on by elephants, but are regarded as respectable due to provenance and material.

Could it be a Bluebox Hongkong copy of the matchbox model. Blue box copied a number of different diecasts

Don't think so, Blue Box may be crude but never that crude.
