enginelane
Found a box in a cupboard that I thought held bags of paper maiche but in fact held a number of unbuilt and Part built kits of 34 ft and 40 ft open hoppers. They are from an estate and I was fortunate enough to have been gifted the items. Spent the afternoon fettling the 34 ft open hoppers. When combined with the 40 ft cars going to make a good addition to through trains on CHIRM.
enginelane
Dug out some letraset and box car decals that had some spare numbers on the sheet. Decided to create an imaginary coal company for the 34 ft open hopper cars. Settles on ICG standing for the Indiana Coal Group. This imaginary Company was formed in the 1950s to group together smaller mine concerns in an attempt to produce coal that could compete with other sources. It reused existing stock relivered and bought in old cars from other railroads to keep down costs. Your ICG pre-dates the 'other' ICG, then. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illinois_Central_Railroad#Illinois_Central_Gulf_Railroad_(1972–1988)

enginelane
Thanks. Model Master flat concrete paint. When dry I rub a thin coat of Mig powders Vietnam dirt over it, European earth from the same range works as well. Then smoke powder from Mig into the cracks. Take off or add powders as you feel needs it. Gouged out areas with a broken file to create wear. Neat flat concrete paint will be weathered tomorrow. 1

Yes but I do feel slightly strange going into a Games Workshop. They look up as to say I think you are in the wrong place but when you explain what you want then very helpful.
DanielB
I wouldn't worry too much, Games Workshop's regular clientele tend to be... Interesting characters. You very likely seemed quite a refreshing change to what the staff are used to.
