Here  I show you my last models, using parts from RTI and Airfix to make new models.

Both are Bedford's.

More comes in the future.

Very nice; tales me back to the early 1960s, when I saw an RAF 'Queen Mary', carrying most of a Hawker Hunter, passing through Morriston (Swansea). Somewhere, also, there is a photo of me saluting a passing convoy of Bedford RLs, full of squaddies; I should add I was about six at the time.

Road Transport Images; specialist manufacturers of model vehicle cabs, bodies and chassis. The founder (Frank Waller?) died recently, but a new owner has taken over. I just checked, and the old web-site is effectively dead; I dare say the new contact details will appear on here soon.

Really good models. Frank Waller did something similar with the airfix trailer but that was one that didn't come to us with the business as Diane (Frank's daughter) has it in a cabinet at home.

An update on the RTI website - I'm pleased to say it is not dead but just sleeping! We have made all the changes that we can and I am just trying to get some time with the web man to change a few others before we can go live. It is frustrating but we will get there hopefully soon.

Graeme.

That sounds good,

nothing get lost, so the Airfix  Bedford becomes an Bedford OWST:

For the next Queen Mary trailer I must order a Bedford M. Hope soon.

More information please.

Is this RTI wakened from slumber under same owners or new owners making stuff available?

New website or old one if they are online again?

Thanks

Hi Graeme,

Thanks for confirming position - much appreciated.

I'll try to be at Falkirk 1st Sept but will certainly be at Ayr Exhibitions with the NGS in Scotland stand.

Thanks

Phil H

Time for a new entry.

There was a cab from the first post, but now I had a solution:

The Bedford QL in postwar breakdown service. Using the RTI chassis and the bodywork with the transfers and the Airfix cab.

Sorry for delay, here is a new entry.

I'm not sure about the original, but I had a 8 whell tank from RTI and for that I used the old Keilkraft (now Knightwing) Foden Haulmaster RG.

Just to point out, the red, blue and white Regent colour scheme had changed to all-over bright red  a few years before the Foden Haulmaster was introduced. Regent filling stations gradually became Texaco in the United Kingdom, and the Regent brand was phased out

The Airfix Austin K6 fire tender is a well know model kit, but Airfix present us a very unusual version. Only a few were used after the war on civil airfields in the greater London area.

So, RTI must help us for a better version.

It's the Fordson WOT 1 fire tender now:
