Swindon scrap yard

I've seen many pictures of loco shells, minus bogies, dumped in Swindon scrap yard, but away from the track in the yard. My question is ,how did they get there? Were,for example, they lifted clear, using the scrap yard gantry crane, of their bogies in the yard with the body shell then dumped on the trackless ground?

The shells which by then quite light after removing the power unit and other equipment were lifted off their bogies by the overhead crane.  I’m not sure if they used their original or accommodation bogies.
