RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted May 20, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 20, 2019 Next on the bench a Colin Ashby LNER open first coach. I should add that my inspiration for all this coach building came from watching the BRM video of Tony Wright’s wonderful “Little Bytham” layout and wanting to re-create (for the layout that a friend and I are building) some of the trains that were running on his layout. RMweb Premium 30368 Posted May 20, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 20, 2019 What an inspiration Darius, Little Bytham is rather good. Good luck with your endevours. If I wasn't a Southern (BR) modeller I would be following a similar path since so many good things came from the LNER not least Mr Bulleid! Kind regards, Richard B

RMweb Gold Bucoops Posted May 22, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 22, 2019 More fantastic (and fast!) work. I think you said elsewhere you use Southern Pride seats? Do you happen to know of a source of the bucket seats that were used pre-war in open coaches?
stewartingram
I used cut-up Biro pens in my Mailcoach observation car. Stewart

You might try a producer of model cars to see if they can supply as a spare.
RMweb Gold Bucoops Posted May 22, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 22, 2019 Thanks, I suspect they would work out expensive - a car uses one or two, a GE section 3rd class open would use about 52! Closest I have found is this - https://www.shapeways.com/product/72KTVQVY9/tatra-t3-t4-k2-t2r-plastic-seats-double-h0?optionId=63119512&li=marketplace but not that good

Are you able to share a photo of the original seats? Darius

RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted May 22, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 22, 2019 (edited) Interior painted and coach body lined, numbered and glazed. And another coach joins the rake. Still needs curtains though. Cheers Darius Edited May 23, 2019 by Darius43
