RMweb Gold astropsidings Posted January 6, 2023 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 6, 2023 (edited) Ruston 33/40. About 10 years ago I built an IP Engineering "Larger Scale" kit for a 20hp Ruston, actually 1/12 scale rather than 1/13.7 (7/8ths), and although a small prototype was always obviously a little large. It was built originally for 18" gauge with extended side frames, later being regauged to 2ft but retaining the frame extensions. Picture shows it working on construction of my present line. Recently I've decided to rebuild it. I considered a 44/48 but it scales closer to a 33/40. So a new frame has been made, the original bonnet is being reused (still slightly too large) and a cab is being fitted. Very nice, did you actually load the skips for some of it and dump them? Just need a little rc steam powered Ruston Buckyrus 😉
