RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 23, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 23, 2019 (edited) I saw this in Phil’s Garden Rail temporary layout article and searched out the kit on eBay - seller ‘vwmonkeyblue’ It slots together beautifully, no fettling required, just pva glue for the bodywork. I cut the axles to length so I could line up the bearings. I built it it as a few sub assemblies. I liked the window surrounds in the GR article so I added them from card. RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 23, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 23, 2019 Primed, sanded and filled again Basic paint on, now some detailing to do. The drive is only on one axle so you could add a chain drive but mine will only ever pull a wagon or two so I left it as one axle drive. The wheels and gear were pressed on using a G clamp.
Administrators Phil Parker Posted May 23, 2019 Administrators Share Posted May 23, 2019 The full story of this loco can be found on my blog: https://philsworkbench.blogspot.com/search/label/16mm Hunslet It's a fun kit, although not the cheapest 16mm loco out there. These guys win that one. 5
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted July 17, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 17, 2019 Porton No1 ready to run although more detailing to do. The wagon kit is lovely and took just a couple of hours including painting!

RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted August 6, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 6, 2019 So the blue Hudson has been renamed Rowntree after the quarries parent company Then I succumbed to temptation to model another line too so I’ve got two skips and the battery mines loco from Phil Sharples. Jensen the workshop foreman is keeping quiet about the client but has sent over these shots of the wagons. can you guess from the clue what they mine here ?
