icphotos
If you message them, they have said they can resize them to 1/76. I have a 1/72 landrover and it is significantly bigger than an Oxford model 1

The scale is 1/72 but as they are 3d printed they can do them in different scales and have a range of landrovers and other exotics. Some have metal wheels which might not be suitable for rescaling but a loot are just 3d prints. https://www.elhiem.co.uk/ourshop/prod_6970467-VBA11-WOLF-LR-110-latest-version-of-the-Medium-Utility-Truck.html My current work in progress is PSNI landrovers Oooo good find, I see they do a Foxhound too, ideal to go on your KWA Warwells accompanying the Cavalex KFA Warflats. I'm going to order one to see how it looks..

rob D2
Looking good. I was thinking of seeing if any of the 3D printing companies would be interested in doing some vehicle chocks for warwell and warflats. They’ll look odd loaded without . 1

The guy I spoke to on the phone was very friendly and added a couple on for me. The chocks will be a very useful addition too if these can be done and I’m certainly interested in getting them. A pleasure to do business with. All the best Mark

That’d be a lot of tooling ! build the kits I say , they take about five minutes and although not finescale good enough for loads Edited February 4, 2021 by rob D2

I think the sheer scale of researching , tooling, producing military vehicles , would dwarf the original wagon project, unkess they are in contact with a third party who may be able to provide, these little AFVs would be ideal for 3 d printing I’d think

KDG
Liking the lightweight landrover too, the vehicle of choice for Flightline NCO. Even the standard 2.25 petrol ones were blinkin' quick.
WILLIAM
Just found this picture I took at Eastleigh back in 1998. Looks to be a mix of warflats with yellow ends (at the front) and those without. Gives me enough of an excuse to order some in both liveries.

There were still green end Warflats around in 2003, I've got shots of seven rolling into Didcot that September and every one is green. 1 1
Trains4U
There is quite a bit of variation in the KFA liveries, with plain green and yellow ended KFAs knocking around today as far as I know. some of these variations will be picked up in future runs of the model. You need to be careful with what’s used for traffic and some that transported back from Germany for internal use. I don’t know if they ran on a one off certificate on the mainline or not but I know the guy in charge of Marchwood MOD rail said some came back for internal use. I’d look for pics of them loaded as I don’t remember seeing any plain green ones come out of the military port when I was Signalman there I saw some very dirty yellow ends but there were bits of yellow showing. WILLIAM’s photo above looks like some are indeed green and as they are inbound to Marchwood look like they will be loaded up. Unfortunately I’ve mislaid my original photos in a move so my only copies are in b&w that were used in the Oakwood book. Isn’t photo research fun

markw
Yes the ones brought back from Germany were the ww2 type that had been re-bogied with Y25s and widened, but at least some of them were cut back to UK gauge and ran on the mainline.

Most of the 81 ended up at Marchwood (and possibly other sites?) as internal users. I believe two went to E G Steele to have the side extensions removed. RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted March 9, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 9, 2021 (edited) Yes a mix of types and as I understood it at the time some of those only ran on the mainline once so you have to be a bit careful taking a photo of an empty one as absolute proof it was in general use The older wide ones were out of gauge so wouldn’t have been able to run on the mainline. As the photo above proves they did run mixed so as long as you’re not too worried about the numbers it’s not a problem but generally they seem to have gone all yellow ends by around 2003-5 from what I saw past the window on Ludgershall and Marchwood trains. Simon Bendall
Those are all Shildon-built ones in that photo, there are no ex-BAOR in that train - the latter are entirely different with their fishbelly solebars and ribbing. Matter of seconds to find a green end watflat in 2020 http://www.flickr.com/photos/kl47576/49617517972
