Looks as though it can be adapted for a number of different uses and not just clay. Interesting it has ben put in the Townscenes section rather than Railscenes.

How does the embossing jig work for making the corrugated iron? Bearing in mind this is a print at home kit.....

This is a reply I got.

 

At only £5.99 it's very much worth buying the kit, the jig can be used for other builds, scratch-builds too. It's simply a series of cards of alternate heights with a "plough" to make the corrugations. Full instructions and pictures in the kit.

Each length of pre-weathered sheeting has a surrounding border that is used to hold the paper securely in the jig whilst you run the supplied embossing tool along the channels... as Pamela says, you can print and emboss more sheets for other project

I thought ScaleScenes were downloads. How do you download the embossing jig?

You make the jig, in much the same way as you do the buildings.

I've bought this, for although I am planning to set my layout in Lincolnshire, the local garage needs a corrugated roof, plus a couple of outbuildings etc.... the buildings themselves will no doubt find a home too, suitably modified.

The jig itself sounds like it is worth the money alone. I wonder if the jig will work with aluminium foil to make corrugated iron. Currently, I use a screw to do it.

The Jig is just strips of card glued to a card base, you could easily knock one up for the corrugations required, not sure how robust it would be with aluminium foil compared to paper though.

 

I have one I use for corrugated using aluminium foil made by gluing (epoxy) 50mm lengths of 1mm diameter wire to a piece of 3mm MDF spaced 1mm apart, I press the foil into the jig using another piece of 1mm wire.
