nztrain
This is a fantastic layout. So evocative of the real thing! Please can you tell us the width of the platforms and what products you used for the great station canopies which run the length of the platforms? Thanks again for all the great photos. robertcwp
The layout has been taken out of operation temporarily for building renovation work and some work on the track too. When it returns to operation, it will be back in late 1950s steam era. robertcwp
I needed more fiddleyard space for DMUs so I have built a small extension. I had no idea so many good DMUs would appear when I planned the layout 19 years ago: P1070648am by Robert Carroll, on Flickr Latest output from the Brian Kirby works are three rebuilt Bachman RUs. RMweb Gold trw1089 Posted August 25, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 25, 2015 Hi Robert I'm only catching up after a while of missing some of your more recent posts. I am amazed at how well your layout handles the transitions between eras, and such beautiful motive power and coaching stock too, especially those conversions. robertcwp
I have now moved the layout on to the early 1960s. Here are some photos from today. Standard 4MT 4-6-0 with a Maunsell S&D 3-set: P1070743am by Robert Carroll, on Flickr Duke of Gloucester makes its debut. robertcwp
A few photos from today: Dapol limited edition D1009 Western Invader - something of a problematic runner but after some fiddling about it now manages to remain on the track. Tangoman69
Robert, superb layout, such realism displayed. For me, the loco lamps seem to be very prominent, but that's me being ultra picky! They are the Springside ones, which are over-scale. If I can find better ones at reasonable cost, I might change them, but there are rather a lot to change!
