RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted June 11, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 11, 2019 (edited) Hi all, OK - I'm thinking I am a bit thick on this one! I cannot find the right drawings in Clives collection - even though I know they were there at some point. Anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks Phil H Edited July 29, 2019 by Scottish Modeller
RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted June 11, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 11, 2019 Hi Phil If you let me know what you are after I can hopefully help. In between time here are some drawings I done off a video called "Diesel and Electrics on 35mm". It was shot from the cab of a "Blue train", sorry I do not know the name of the station but it does show the variety of mast that could be found in a short space. All dimensions are for 4mm modellers, I am sure those who model the obscure scales can resize them themselves.
RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted June 11, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 11, 2019 On differing stretches of the Glasgow suburban lines there are differing designs of mast. The more common H shaped up rights, round ones and some continental looking lattice design are all to be found. There is also a short section on the south side of the Clyde which is Mk2 OLE. As far as I can tell Mk2 Ole is diamensionally the same as Mk1 but uses clip fittings similar to mk3, if anyone knows more I am will to learn. Next set of mast. RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted June 11, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 11, 2019 The last lot. If anyone thinks they know which station it , please let me know because I would imagine the same mast are still in use.

RMweb Gold Joseph_Pestell Posted June 11, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 11, 2019 (edited) From the trackplan and bridges. I think it is Bellgrove. Edit: No that's wrong. Bellgrove has an island platform. Edited June 11, 2019 by Joseph_Pestell Correction

RMweb Premium Legend Posted June 12, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 12, 2019 Is it maybe Westerton with junction of Milngavie and Drumchapel lines? I have the video , must have another look when back home .
RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted June 12, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted June 12, 2019 Hi Clive, Once again you have delivered the goods! I agree - there are a wide variety of OHLE structures used in the area I am looking at modelling. This is for N/2mm and having the right look and feel makes a big difference when compared to the real thing. The track diagram you have used is very similar to what I intend modelling. I'll post up a plan that I am working on shortly. Thanks Phil H
duncan
Not Westerton unless Clive was there many years ago, as the Milngavie junction has been single lead & single line for 20 ? years.

It could be Westerton as the video Clive quotes show scenes which pre-date the rationalisation of the junction there by many years. However I had a quick watch of my D&E on 35mm today (both volumes 1&2 [on one DVD] and 3) and couldn't find the Blue train cab ride; If anyone knows roughly when and on which video it appears I'll have another look. (I did notice on volume 3 that a Blue train described as being at Springburn is actually at Muirend !)
