Made up the traction engine kit tonight which represent the Vicar of Wellsworth's traction engine, affectionally known as 'Trevor'. The plan is that he will be on a low-flat, arriving at Ffarquhar after being subcontracted out to one of the local farms. Also about ready to be properly fitted to his chassis, is No 1 'Thomas'. The ride height is just about right, and I think ready to be screwed into place, ready for detailing work. My Sons Thomas, despite being brand new, runs like a bag of balls over set-track points, and changing to a Bachmann Chassis did occur to me as well. It's a 3D printed one by Sparkshot Custom Creations, the dimensions are very different to the Hornby one which was stretched to fit an existing chassis. However, I personally think Mavis was introduced because the workload was too much for Toby to be shunting at the Quarry as well as his other duties on the branch.
