Andrew P
A start was made on the wall behind Platform 1. Firstly some 9mm Ply and 7mm Dressed Stone as I wanted the industrial northern look for the Station area. Then some formers and cardboard for the Grass embankment later.
Andrew P
Next up was to add some colour. Using Acrylic Paints as seen in the first pic, I just splodged it all over in no particular fashion. I then wiped it down with a damp cloth, you can also use a sponge for this. I then gave what will be a grass embankment a coat of green as well. 11
Popular Post Andrew P
Then finally I tackled the Backscene. There will be a few Farms and a Hamlet or two added later. 22
Tex
Have to say that I am insanely jealous on two fronts. Your rate of progress is amazing - I know others comment on this but still..... You are very gifted - your backscene is fantastic, really. I don't know about others, but I find some of the modelling on display on RMWeb equally inspiring and intimidating. There are times where I experience modeller's block as a result of not wanting to mess it up. The irony is that I am an educator by profession and I know that the only way to learn is by doing, messing up, learning and doing again. 8

Thanks Tex, Very kind of you, all I can say is that firstly, I don't rush things, and therefore not working like the clappers. Secondly have a go on a bit of scrap paper, board, wood, lounge wall NO NO, NO, but basically have a go mate. Good luck. 2

Andrew P
I've had the Boiler man here all day fitting a new Heat Exchanger, so no afternoon nap for me today. Instead I started on the Branch Tunnel Mouth, next I need to blend the wall and Porthole into each other. 6

Andrew P
A couple of mate around this evening in the form of Big John and Mark the chippy. Mark asked what the marks were on the front of the Layout. I said it was an area I was going to cut away when I get around to it, so he said, I have just the tool for that in my Van. Ten minutes later, and with John holding the hoover nozzle next to the blade, the front was cut away with almost no dust or mess. The cut out section will help for the cutting along the Branch.

Andrew P
A very busy day today with Tip run, some company and other things to do, but I did manage a hour and a bit so managed to finish Platform 1, apart from painting the Seats. Just some random pics with wet PVA.

No, Southbridge fell apart, so I built Pig Lane. When that was causing more problems than it was worth I built a bigger version, Hanging Hill. Brisbane Road was built as I wanted another small depot. Hanging Hill fell apart, all exhibition layouts either fall apart or end up like Triggers broom were every thing needing replacing. So that was cleared off to make Sheffield Exchange Mk1. Mk1 was stopped owing to a house move and me wanting to build Mk2 (which you have still to visit). Pig Lane (Western Region) was made as a side project for a Lyddrail competition. All other projects canceled through lack of interest. You see it is all one big Flying Circus.
