RMweb Premium Steven B Posted June 28, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 28, 2019 Not too dissimilar to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct or Millau Viaduct in function (but slightly longer!). I'd guess that it actually uses less materials, and may cost less, than bringing the train down to valley floor level whilst maintaining a shallow gradient for what I'm guessing is a high speed line. jukebox Posted June 28, 2019 Share Posted June 28, 2019 Hmmm It's a coal railway - Menghua Railway - a double line route that is the longest heavy haul freight railway in the world at 1,817 kilometers connecting China with Western Inner Mongolia.
